Chapter 3

Oakford parish in North Devon is the cradle of the Loosemore family. This chapter summarises what is known of the family in that parish from the earliest known mention of the name up to its final mention there in 1611. The subsequent history of East and West Loosemoor farms is sketched from 1607 up to the present time.
