Loosemore of Tiverton

A detailed study of a family of Tiverton clothiers, father and three sons, from c1480-c1620, summarising their rise to wealth and subsequent fall through three generations. The account covers family relationships, their business and official activities, the acquisition and sale of their many properties; transcriptions of wills etc. are given in Appendices. A short final section concerns the experiences of John Loosmore, mariner of Tiverton, in the period of the Spanish Armada.
